Book Club Recap "The Host"
This month we read THE HOST which was the first adult fiction novel of Stephanie Meyer. NOT impressed. I did go into this with a little chip on my shoulder because I was not a fan of TWILIGHT. With TWILIGHT I had a hard time getting past the writing and just enjoying the storyline. It is also a little sappy for my taste, so I say not the best book ever, like some may assume because there are SO MANY fans. People are CRAZY about this book. I just couldn't do it. THE HOST on the other hand I do have to give the author credit, I feel was written much much better. Maybe that is the "adult" fiction coming into play? Unfortunately, I am BORED OUT OF MY MIND. There are a few things that I see coming (I haven't finished it, but I will, I am committed) but I at the same time I am really wondering "Where is this going?" She has been in these caves for an eternity and blah blah....I'm bored.
So, I do think I will finish the TWILIGHT series, I am told it gets better, but I feel I should join in on this social movement that Utah seems to be going through.
A couple of changes in the schedule....Instead of THE WINNER in September, we will be reading A NEW EARTH by Eckhart Tolle. I've already started this book...there are many truths in this, but it is DEEP. I think it will make for a good discussion.
Thanks Lindsay for hosting, and I will be dreaming about those mushrooms for the rest of my life.

Best Weekend EVER!
We had such a fun filled weekend....
It started with a Matinee for Steve and I, we went to see "Baby Mama." If you know me, you know i love me some funny girls and Tina and Amy are THE BEST. I support them in all they do. Tina is a comedic genius and who doesn't love Amy's Katelyn? (RIIICK!)another favorite is Amber "I got one leg, jealous?!"
Saturday we had a huge family yard sale. It was a success! It was an 8 hour day, spent with family, food and laughs and i made over $115.00 AND my house is a little cleaner and less cluttered. I feel cleansed.
yard sale hats!
Later that day we went to a birthday party for my little niece Gracie who turned 3! It was a princess party and she was so cute...she kept saying "Happy Birthday to you" then she would get corrected, then she would say "its not your birthday, Happy Valentines day!" What a cutie.
After that we went to a surprise birthday party for my aunt Chayo. The big surprise was a MARIACHI band! It was so fun and sweet. My uncle surprised her with the band, and if you've ever seen one, you know how big the entrance is and it was AWESOME. I was fighting back the tears because it was so romantic of my uncle.

NEW LOGO...
Steve's cousin hooked it up with a cute new logo for me! I am really excited about it. Hope you all like it as well. The whole color change is one thing I love about it, too. Also, I got a new template for my website. Check it out here. I'm still compiling galleries and going back to add older images, but you get the jist.

6 things about my 6 month old
1. He ate rice cereal for the first time yesterday. Who knew 2 people could be so excited over a bowl of mush? He loved it and I loved how he kept pulling my pinky to get the spoon in his mouth.
2. He is such a flirt! Any random person can come up to him and smile and say "you are so cute," and I swear he will make a face back at them that says "I know"
3. He loves rolling. He has just started rolling multiple times to get a little closer to me or something that has caught his eye.
4. He loves Pedro. I have to break them up so often because Owen will be on the floor reaching for him and Pedro will just sit all day and lick his hands and feet (yuck). I caught Owen laughing at Pedro when he was trying to tear apart one of his toys.
5. He still has no teeth. After months of drooling and many predictions that "he must be teething" Sorry, no teeth.
6. I think he likes gymnastics. He does this hilarious back bend and scoots around the floor on his head. I found him once partly under my bed gnawing on the bed frame.
So crazy...time flies and I have a six month old. Did I cry on his 6 month birthday? YES. But it is so fun watching him grow and having new experiences with him. Love you Owen!
