Howdy!

Owen's friend Deacon had his 2 year birthday party...a cowboy party. Deacon's Mommy made it so cute and so fun...this was the best cowboy outfit I could rangle up...the bandana was a party favor made by Deacon's sweet grandmaI can't believe we could make this picture happen! We were missing Warner, I think he wasn't there yet, but pictured is...

Where to start?

I love the summer and I love that we are having some awesomely good weather. We have been taking full advantage in many a ways...First off we have been getting together on a weekly basis with the girls and their kids and it has been so fun! We've walked the daybreak lake, had a picnic and we will be going swimming, and have many more fun times out and about keeping us busy. Another, we have been spending lots of time outside prepping and working on the yard. (pictures of the finished product to come soon).
Owen loves the outside. He loves to take my little garden shovel and dig in the dirt. He loves to walk up and down the driveway. He throws a major fit when it is time to come in.

We put our lawn in! Who know so much joy could come from green grass? Our house looks a billion times better and a lot less dust flying around. Pictured here is: steve's dad (Scott), Geoff, my dad (ART), and Steve. But not pictured that helped us....My uncle Jose who layed our concrete THANK YOU! Brad who spent 2 full days working on our sprinklers, steve's cousin Phil, uncle John, and brother Greg. Thank you all for being such work horses. I've never seen sod get layed so fast!
I had what may have been the best day of my life. hahahaha. Really, though. We went to see NO DOUBT. I have loved them since about 8th grade (over 12 years ago). They put on what I felt was the best show I have seen live. (close second would be the FOO FIGHTERS, then the KILLERS). ANYWAY...Gwen was awesome, the whole band was awesome. I have to admit they started with a big white sheet and you saw this projection of their silhouettes and I got goose bumps. then I saw the whole futuristic stage and I was a little dissapointed thinking "boring". but actually they made it AWESOME. they had projections the turned it different colors and it was all amazing. It just proved once again that LESS IS MORE. in my mind. I'm sure no one really cares, but I just wanted to remember how much fun we had. A couple little highlights...she brought Kingston out and we sang happy birthday to him,so cute, and she saved the best for last (although it is hard to say what song is my fave) they sang "Sunday Morning" very last. Thank you steve for the best Mother's day gift ever! the picture above was the best shot I could get of the stage, iphone not the best picture taker in contrasty situations.

A funny story

SOMEONE had left their golf club in the kitchen after he was done using it. I decided to toss it into the living room (it is carpeted) so it would not be in my way in the kitchen. SOMEONE scolded me for doing so.

That someone is 17 months old, and scolded me by saying no, no, no many times. Isn't it a little early for the obsession to start?

Where DID we go?

Well, this is a 3 part answer you see.

Technically, we moved! I actually moved in December, but never have we made mention of it on the blog. The relevance of this will be revealed in 2 seconds...

Cyberly speaking, I've been on facebook a little more frequently, and I now have a great appreciation for facebook. it kinda feels like blogging was SOOO 2008. But don't worry blog, you are still my true love.

Metaphorically speaking, I have been on a QUEST. A quest to make our new house a home. We are in a bigger, better space than before, but moving from a townhome to a actual house makes you realize what little stuff you have to fill it! So, I have had many a projects completed and yet to be completed, but I have no problems with a work in progress. One thing I have really come to realize is that I love green. I would live in a green house with green walls with green shelves that have green picture frames with pictures of us in our matching green clothes. Yeah, nuts. Don't worry, I have been able to excercise some self control, but to bring in some green I made these...

And to help in this quest, my cousins and I have been getting together once a month. We eat, we laugh, we craft. GOOD TIMES! Last month I painted this little treasure...

so hopefully, I can pick up the pace and quit this "once a month" blogging. Lame, I know.

a blog worth reading

No, I'm not talking about my own. I have come across a blog that features a "supermom series." Being the stay at home mom that I am, I was personally inspired by this post. It is a blessing being a mom, and I am very blessed to be able to spend all day every day with my favorite little boy! I felt that this supermom put it all so well about being entrusted with young little souls. Oh and I love the picture of her and the baby on the cruiser (just wait for this summer). Reading this made me feel inspired and motivated. What will I do to be the best mom I can be?
on another note...here is a pic of Owen loving on Pedro, seriously, his name is the first thing he says every morning. The boy is obsessed.

and what Owen and I have been up to for the last month...running a lot. He is a great running buddy!

the boys

Where are my blogging friends? Seems like I haven't had a blog to read in ages...here is a fun collage of Owen and his buddy Dane. He came over and they had lots of fun together. Later that night Owen stood up all by himself and since then has taken about 4 or 5 steps. Come back Dane!
