Cowboy Day

One of my favorite things about Ms. Kathy's preschool is that EVERY month there is a fun party to look forward to. In fear of being a "party hog" I signed up for 3 or 4 parties, unfortunately, cowboy day was not one. But they had the whole month to learn about deserts, cactus, colors and letters that are somewhat related to cowboys. For the party they got to get all dressed up and made their own stick ponies. He had a lot of fun and it was sure fun for me to see him all dressed up. These pictures were taken pre-party, he took the bandana off by the time we got to school. He came up with all of theses poses for me. He was digging himself as a cowboy.

Surprise! Grandpa Scott Turns 60!!

Scott turned the big 60! My mother in law Cyndee threw him a surprise party with all of the family and some of his close friends and co-workers. (One thing I love about my in-laws, they are still friends, and still get together with their friends from their South High days...isn't that cool to hear? I know this will be the case with all of our wonderful friends we have now;)) Anyway, to get him to show up to Grandma Bethie's clubhouse, which is his mother-in-law, Matt invited him golfing and then said he had to pick up some Mary Kay for his wife, because grandma sells it. When they arrived, the jig was up, being all of our cars were out front, along with a banner and balloons. It was an open house, so people were coming and going all night. It was nice to see a lot of familiar faces like old neighbors and old bosses. Cyndee kept it low key, and it was a perfect fun night! Happy Birthday!

California Vacation Part 3: Disneyland!

Disneyland! The great thing about going to California in September is the crowds are not so crazy....on the beach, shopping, or Disneyland. I think we went on a Tuesday. The weather was perfect! 80 degrees! There were actually a lot of people, but the lines were pretty quick to go through, which is a must with a rambunctious 13 month old! We started by loading up on sunscreen and buying Owen the coolest pair of gloves ever...Mickey Gloves. He thought he was pretty cool. Steve and I took turns riding the big rides with Owen, YAY, he can ride pretty much all of them! Miles spent a lot of time in his stroller when not in line or on a ride. I felt bad, and we would let him wonder around here and there, but he was so mobile and not afraid of anything, so this guy had to be contained. Owen went on Splash Mountain and loved it...they got soaked. Owen's favorite ride was Buzz Lightyear. Miles favorite part of the day was the very end...he was cranky and tired, but when the parade started, he was going NUTS! His hands were waving all over and he was so excited. We managed to have both boys fall asleep at the same time in the stroller, that made for a peaceful little break. We did a little shopping and a had a snack...the chile and lime corn on the cob was something I'd really been wanting to try. Sadly, it disappointed. I will make my own and bet its 100xs better. I think around 4:00 I was thinking, man, this day has flown, and also, man, I am exhausted. Good news for us, in September, Disney closes at 8:00.
